The Magula family is passionate about making natural wines exclusively from their organically grown grapes of specific Slovak varieties. Vinárstvo Magula's viticultural journey began in 2007 when they replanted an old vineyard that had been reverted to the family. Since 2016 the vineyards have been cultivated biodynamically. The estate is located in a unique place: on the grounds of an old monastery, in the leafy shade of ancient chestnut trees. The Magula family has a strong commitment to the environment and always strives to live in harmony with nature. They grow chestnuts and various fruits and keep bees and farm animals to bring life and balance to their property.
In the wine cellar, they strive to be merely supervisors with minimal intervention. The wines are allowed to mature at their own pace and in their own way, reflecting the characteristics of the grape variety, the vintage, and the terroir. In this way, harmony and elegance are conveyed to the bottle. Magula wines, especially the reds, are intense yet subtle and elegant, capturing the crisp and charming character of the northern terroirs.
