Right now, it is the fourth generation of this family that has dedicated itself to viticulture at Weingut Reis & Luff in the village of Aspisheim in the rolling hills of Rheinhessen. “Our wines are an expression of joy. Wine is not complicated. Whatever tastes good is allowed,” reports Shanna Reis who took the estate over in 2017 after graduating from Geisenheim. She is responsible for winemaking and is supported by her parents and grandparents. Our favourite is her bone-dry and mineral Riesling “47 m ü NHN”, named after the lowest water level measured on the river Rhine in summer 2018. More of that please!
