The red wine Finca Monteviejo Rioja DOCa, vintage 2011 from the winery Bodegas de la Marquesa Valserrano has been rated in 2016 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Grenache from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Strong hazelnut-like wood tones, bitter chocolate and maquis notes on the nose. The palate is round and very homogeneous, with fine yet dominant tannins and a well-integrated acidity. Despite its power also has a lot of dynamism, helped by a savoury and mineral finish. Impressive balance at 15.5% by volume.
