The red wine Gianola Nizza Riserva DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Cascina Garitina has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Very dense, dark ruby, black core. Opens with notes of malt and dark bread crust, dried plums and pickled cherries in the background. Opens nicely on the palate, then displays ripe fruit notes, finely-meshed tannins with good tension, lots of juicy fruit on the finish, still seems very young.
