Strong red; lots of black berry fruit on the nose, ivy, a hint of wood, plummy, smoky; grippy, pithy tannins on the palate, juicy acidity, dries slightly; slight bitterness on the finish. Compact, still youthfully rugged, honest Merlot, can mature.
