Tasting Notes
Medium ruby, purple reflections, broad ochre rim. Some damp wool, orange zest, restrained bouquet, red forest berries, fine tobacco spice, some liquorice. Juicy on the palate with a harmonious and perfectly balanced interplay of fruit, tannin and acidity, mineral and salty, long-lasting. According to Mattieu Perrin, more Grenache than Mourvèdre was used here, which would also explain the lighter colour. An exceptionally fine food wine with red berryish confit and saline nuances in the finish. Has reached its peak, but will continue to be a pleasure to drink for several decades.
