Tasting Notes
Deep dark ruby colour with purple reflections and a touch of edge brightening. The nose shows fine black fruit, nuances of blueberries and liquorice, with dark cherries and some tobacco notes in the background - multi-faceted, but somewhat restrained overall. Powerful, juicy and vivid on the palate with well-embedded wood and a subtle hint of nougat. There's polish here to the ripe cherry fruit and chocolaty nuances on the finish, but it still needs a lot of time.
More about the tastingVery dark ruby garnet, violet reflections; ripe cherry fruit underlaid with fine nougat, delicate hints of honey and spices, multi-faceted bouquet, elegant, delicately herbal-spicy texture, chocolaty and full-bodied, rich in finesse, carried by a finesse-rich acidity, dark minerality on the finish, extract-sweet aftertaste, continues its great upswing unchecked, very good aging potential.
