The red wine Churchill Grafite Red, vintage 2019 from the winery Churchill Graham has been rated in 2022 by Robin Lee with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz from the region Douro in Portugal.
Intense with purple damson, ripe strawberries and steeped tea leaves, with savoury notes of fennel seeds and a hint of absinthe. This is a well balanced and elegant example of what the Douro can do. With its hefty structure and big, burly tannins, this is a food-lovers wine, certainly not an apéritif.
