The red wine Valentino Barbera d'Alba DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Dabbene Daniele has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Bright, deep ruby with purple shimmers. Intense and inviting nose, with a lovely interplay of subtle wood notes and flamboyant fruit, as well as tobacco and cinnamon, followed by lots of preserved plums, and a dash of wild raspberry. Round and smooth on the palate, lots of dark fruit, then regrettably, very strongly marked by wood on the back palate with drying tannins. Liquorice and molasses finish.
