The red wine A.D. 1212 Umbria Rosso IGT, vintage 2018 from the winery Decugnano dei Barbi has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points.
It has a rich and powerful ruby colour, with a purple shimmer. On the nose it opens with subtle spicy notes of freshly ground pepper, followed by blackberry and elderberry, it has a rich bouquet. It is robust and gripping on the palate, with dark berry fruit on a spicy background, and it is juicy with good volume.
