The red wine Merlot Brda, vintage 2015 from the winery Emeran Reya has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Goriška Brda in Slovenia.
Dark ruby in colour with purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the ochre rim. On the nose, aromas of delicate wood spice, black cherry, dark nougat, some minerality, underlaid with fine herbal nuances. The palate is juicy and mineral with a firm texture, ripe tannins and delicate fruit with dark wild berries, and notes of ripe cherry on the finish. A balanced, textured food wine with the potential for further ageing.
