The white wine Egri Csillag Superior, vintage 2019 from the winery Gál Lajos has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Welschriesling, Chardonnay from the region Eger in Hungary.
Subtly spicy wood notes, plus some herbal aromas, aniseed and fennel seeds, as well as apple peel. The attack is emphatically soft and supple, with silky texture supported by an acidity that blends very well with the body. A charming but also rich wine with good volume and length.
