The red wine Le Balze Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Il Poggiolino has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, dark ruby with some garnet tinge. Very compact and intense nose, opens with savoury notes of forest and wood bark, then lots of ripe berries, cherry and raspberry. Round and smooth on the palate, spreads extensively, lots of dense tannins, enveloped by the fine texture.
