The red wine Südtirol Merlot Riserva Gant DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery Cantina Andriano has been rated in 2015 by Othmar Kiem with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Rich, sparkling ruby with a slight garnet sheen. Very intense and gripping nose of blackberries and cassis, with some tobacco and fine cocoa notes in the background. Fills out the palate, opens with lots of fine-grained, dense tannins, hearty, ripe blackberries and licorice, firm pressure on the finish.
