The red wine Südtirol Graf von Meran Merlot-Lagrein DOC, vintage 2009 from the winery Kellerei Meran has been rated in 2012 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
A sparkling ruby red with a violet sheen. An appealing nose, initially slightly smoky with some earthy notes, followed by rich dark berry fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied from the first sip through the finish, revealing beautiful ripe berries and firm, pronounced tannins, with a tobacco-like finish.
