The red wine Voltaccia 49 Toscana Rosso IGT, vintage 2017 from the winery Poggio al Chiuso has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot
Deep dark, almost impenetrable ruby red in colour. On the nose, candle wax, undergrowth, barrel spice, very dark berry fruit, with a cigar leaf finish. The palate is dense and tightly woven, envelops the tongue with a dense, very heavy, full-body, revealing earthy notes, unfortunately the finish is somewhat dry and draining, a wine for lovers of heavy wines.
