A soft, lustrous purplish red. An elegant bouquet, initially with aromas of violets and lilac, followed by blueberry and cherry, pepper, and cocoa—complex and layered. On the palate, too, it offers notes of chocolate and ripe fruit, with silky tannins, consistently underpinned by a spicy note that carries through to the lingering finish.
