The red wine Pontolungo DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Poggio Trevvalle has been rated in 2018 by Benjamin Herzog & Dominik Vombach with 87 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot from the region Morellino di Scansano in Italy.
Initially somewhat restrained on the nose, then notes of stewed dark berries, pepper and liquorice. Juicy acidity on the palate, beautiful fruit, noticeable tannins and a slightly burnt finish.
