Brilliant, intense ruby garnet. Opens with slightly smoky notes on the nose, then lots of lush fruit, plums and blackberries. Pithy and firm on the palate, shows beautiful ripe fruit, especially plums, some licorice, opens with gripping, hearty tannins, builds up full, beautiful pressure on the finish.
