Rich, sparkling ruby; intense nose with pronounced ripe notes of raspberry, some blackcurrant, elderberries; smooth and creamy on the palate, lots of fine-grained tannin, ripe fruit notes, well-integrated wood on the finish, subtle hints of caramel and vanilla, but the nose still takes some getting used to.
