The red wine Chicca Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale DOCG, vintage 2017 from the winery Varvaglione 1921 has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
An intense and rich ruby red colour with a purple tinge. On the nose there are rich and ripe blackberry aromas as well as slightly spicy leather tones. On the palate there is some residual sweetness and it is thus very smooth. It is round and complex, it spreads with a nice velvety and soft texture, has a good drive, and a long finish with some sugary sweetness.
