The red wine Zweigelt Privat, vintage 2011 from the winery Weingut Christoph Bauer has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Lower Austria in Austria.
It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate ochre rim. There is an aroma of lovely fine oak spiciness, as well as nougat, herbs, black berry fruit, and some plum in the background. It is powerful and complex, with strong sweet fruit, ripe supporting tannins, good freshness and length, and a chocolaty minerality on the finish. It is compelling proof of the ripening potential of the variety, and the wine reaches its perfect maturity after ten years.
