The red wine Clauß Pinot Noir Urbanus, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Clauß has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 88 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Baden in Germany.
Smoke and peat on the nose give a real sense of autumnal earthiness. There also is a sense of smoked, cured meat that suggests evolution. The palate comes across much fresher and presents pure, beautiful cherry fruit but also oaky tannin. This is slender, aromatic and rather autumnal with a mouth-watering hint of bitterness.
