The red wine »Cuvée DUCA XI« trocken, vintage 2014 from the winery Weingut Egon Schmitt has been rated in 2018 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Spicy berry aromas, with wild berry, blackberry, and raspberry. On the palate the spicy elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon is combined with the fruity juiciness of Merlot and the dynamic power of Cabernet Mitos. It has soft tannins, and has good ageing potential.
More about the tastingAfter eight, mint, slightly malty, beef tartare. Black pepper. First maturity in the aromas. Powerful on the palate, with somewhat dry tannins, lean and sinewy, well-integrated acidity, strong alcohol, hard-pressed.
