The red wine Tesoro, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut Esterházy has been rated in 2011 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Blaufränkisch from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Dark ruby colour, opaque core, purple reflections. Ripe plum fruit, delicately underlaid with blackberry confit, subtle savouriness, fine chocolate. Full-bodied, good complexity, sweet berry fruit, rounded tannins, fresh acidity, gentle dried fruit flavours and nougat on the finish. It is already gluggable, and is a very powerful food wine.
