The red wine Morus Lagrein Südtirol DOC, vintage 2007 from the winery Weingut H. Lentsch has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Dark, deep ruby. Initially very closed on the nose, it's restrained and needs a lot of time in the glass - best to decant before drinking. After some time in the glass fine mint, ripe peach, sour cherries and sealing wax emerge, with a hint of wood and earthy tones. On the palate it's soft and supple, with hearty, well-integrated tannins. Shows drive and length; a fine and rare bottle.
