The red wine Merlot Riserva Südtirol DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Haidenhof has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Dark, bright garnet with purple. Opens with rich fruit, ripe blackberry, stewed plum, some sea buckthorn, a hint of cinnamon and roasted coffee bean in the aftertaste. Compact on the palate with a good texture, full-bodied, lots of velvety tannins, beautiful acidity, full-bodied and complex on the finish, persistent.
