The white wine »Muschelkalk« Gleisweiler Grauburgunder, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Herbert Meßmer has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grauburgunder from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Some yeast, smoky, chalky and spicy aromas, some apple on the nose. On the palate the wine has good substance, a dense, very dry style, it still finishes closed, very compact and clearly yeasty. Needs a year to mature in the bottle and will then certainly become a full-bodied varietal.
