The orange wine Hochgrassnitzberg maischevergoren, vintage 2011 from the winery Holger Hagen has been rated in 2015 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Weißburgunder, Welschriesling from the region Southern Styria in Austria.
Bright orange yellow with gold reflections. A delicately nutty character underlies ripe stone fruit, candied orange zest, dried pears - it still feels quite fresh. Complex, taut texture with the fruit majoring on apricot. A lively structure but seems rather light despite shows good length and a salty minerality to the finish.
