The white wine Weissburgunder Osthofen trocken, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Karl May has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weissburgunder from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Roasted notes on the nose, with chestnut, coffee beans and cocoa powder in particular to the fore. There's some potato peel and quince puree in the background too. On the palate, this powerful and supple Pinot Blanc that shows its Rhine-Hessian character and the influence of ageing in wooden barrels, lending a beautiful spiciness over the mineral base. Good length.
