The sweet and dessert wine Paul Lagrein Passito Mitterberg IGT, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Kiemberger has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Dark ruby, impenetrable. On the nose are cinnamon, cocoa powder, dried dates, dried figs, a touch of raisin, and a hint of pomegranate. Some fine Oak completes the picture. On the palate enormously textural, integrated, oily, delicately perceptible tannin. Possesses power and drive. A very long finish, again on pomegranate. A unique wine.
