The red wine »Zenit« Assmannshausen Frankenthal Spätburgunder trocken, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Robert König has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Still some yeast on the nose along with clear red cherry and cranberry. There's some savoury and peppery notes and roasted aromas in the background, as well as a hint of celery stalks. Well-dosed power and verticality on the palate, with good tension and a lively profile. It's full-bodied but with mineral undertones and fresh sour cherry which creates elegance and a sense of youthfulness.
