It has a strong ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a broad ochre rim. There is a lovely hint of ripe cherry, with some nougat and herbal savouriness, and fine plum fruit in the background, it opens slowly. On the palate it is complex, juicy, with ripe cherry again, velvety tannins, elegance and persistence, and nice fruit sweetness on the finish. It has reached a first drinking maturity, and is a top vintage for Zweigelt, and it has further development potential.
