The white wine Gewürztraminer Spätlese, vintage 2023 from the winery Weinhof Scheu has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gewürztraminer from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
The lush late harvest aroma spreads out a whole basket of tropical fruits: Mango, passion fruit, candied pineapple. On the palate, the wine is not as creamy and luscious as the aroma would suggest: rather juicy, with a full-bodied tension, an almost chalky texture, with a pinch of carbonic acid, and with clear tactile-mineral support on the finish.
