The red wine Südtirol Merlot DOC, vintage 2008 from the winery Wilhelm Walch has been rated in 2011 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
A vibrant, deep ruby red. Opens on the nose with delicate spicy notes—inviting—followed by lovely blackberry tones. On the palate, well-structured tannins that are soft and supple, unfolding beautifully with plenty of rich blackberry fruit and a long, lingering finish.
