The Polz Winery is redefining itself and returning to its origins of 1912. Now in its fourth generation, the family is working each day to bring its idea of excellence to the glass.

Erich Polz Jr. has been running the business since 2020 with the vision of guiding the fabulous ageing potential of the wines and valuable know-how, inherent in his family's long winemaking tradition, into a fruitful, healthy future. Erich's brother, Christoph, is responsible for the cellar and vinification - and has great confidence in every single grape, because the passion of the brothers is in manual work and careful selection. Their ideas and skills come directly from their origins in southern Styria, a unique terroir. Sustainability is lived - be it through gentle pruning, the renunciation of insecticides and glyphosates or the conversion of the vineyards to "organic", which is already being implemented.

In the words of Erich Polz Jr.: "We have been learning every day for 109 years. We work with healthy vines on healthy soils. We strive for balance and excellence in our wines. And we are now increasingly treading paths that are untrodden. After all, nothing is riskier than to risk nothing."
