The finalists for Årets Kock 2026, Sweden’s most prestigious culinary competition and national championship for professional chefs, have been announced following an intense two-day qualification round in Stockholm.

Eighteen chefs competed in a series of challenges designed to test technical skill, creativity and ingredient knowledge. After an initial round based on their recipe submissions, the top twelve advanced to a second day of surprise challenges, where they were tasked with creating a cold starter featuring raw beef from an SRB dairy cow and a quail main course accompanied by a “next-level” salad.

The six chefs who secured a place in the final are:

  • Jonas Lagerström, Etoile & Celeste (380 points)
  • Henric Herbertsson, SK Mat & Människor (356.5 points)
  • Karl Esplund, Gibrand/Sjöberg (338 points)
  • Christoffer Rosén, Görvälns Slott (327 points)
  • Evelina Änggren, Signum (316 points)
  • William Brittsjö, Lux Dag för Dag (315 points)

This year’s qualification round was also the first under the leadership of Jimmi Eriksson, winner of Årets Kock 2016. According to jury chairman Jonas Dahlbom, the competition showcased both exceptional technical ability and the continued evolution of Swedish gastronomy.

The finalists were announced during a ceremony at Stockholm’s Nationalmuseum and will now compete for the title of Årets Kock 2026 on 1 October at Annexet in Stockholm.
