This winery certainly passes the muster of a "traditional winery", with the history of this family-run winery dating back to the 1920s. However, the brothers Alexander and Martin Bauer are allergic to dust and have catapulted their vineyards, wines and labels into the future: the latter always causing a bit of a stir with its catchy slogans. But the clever marketing is not a gimmick to conceal a lack of content: The wines are unique and expressive - whether it's the "Beachball" Viognier or the climate change inspired cuvées made from Nebbiolo and Barbera ("Servator") and from four Bordeaux varieties ("Cultor").
