The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 2006 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points.
Brilliant, intense ruby, pale garnet rim. Compact nose, very intense fruit, ripe plum, slightly dried, notes of white pepper and cardamom. Firm tannins, still very young, opens up in many layers, hearty and gripping, good freshness, still very young overall.
