The red wine Caiarossa, vintage 2011 from the winery Caiarossa has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Very much dark ruby in colour, with a slight purple tinge. A lush nose with lots of ripe dark fruit - lots of cassis and elderberries - underpinned by tobacco. Mountains of dark berries on the palate, then wonderfully dense, soft tannins. Deep and complex, with a very long finish, this has continued to grow since last year.
