The red wine Caiarossa IGT, vintage 2011 from the winery Caiarossa has been rated in 2015 with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Very much a dark ruby hue with a slight purple tinge. Lush nose with lots of dark ripe berry fruit, plenty of cassis and elderberries. Mountains of dark berry fruit, then opens with wonderfully dense, soft tannins, deep and complex, very long finish, salty.
More about the tastingVelvety ruby red with light violet notes. Smells of lilac, then lots of dark berry fruit, especially elderberry and blackberry. Opens up on the palate with wonderfully supple tannins, velvety and dense, develops very long and in many layers, fine melting, concentration paired with elegance.
