The sweet and dessert wine Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery Castello di Meleto has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Trebbiano, Malvasia, Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Tasting Notes
Bright dark gold with orange. Oxidative notes on the nose with heavily roasted hazelnut and walnut, followed by dried date and black tea. The palate opens with acidity, reminiscent of ripe apple and apricot. Complex fruit flavours with some bitter and coffee aromas through to the finish.
