The white wine »6. Apriles Anno 1659« Silvaner trocken, vintage 2016 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Sylvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
Discreet woody spice. Supple onset of emphatically textured evolution, firm acid backbone and peppery terroir notes embrace drive and tension. The use of wood remains unobtrusive, the full-bodied and distinctly tart wine gains by its composure.
More about the tastingAcacia honey, quinces, licorice and wood spice with a hint of caramel candy fill the richly endowed nose. Lush on the palate with clear tannins, warm alcohol with salted caramel and a present bitter note in the aftertaste.
