The red wine Masseto, vintage 2013 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby with a deep purple hue. A lush nose of very intense, deep tobacco, then blackberries and blueberries. Earthy and savoury notes in the background make for a multilayered nose. Lots of dark berry fruit and many layers of dense tannin which build for a long time. The rich drive leads to an afterburner of a finish.
