The red wine Ornellaia Supriore DOC, vintage 2014 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2017 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Bolgheri in Italy.
Rich, deep dark ruby. Opens on the nose with intense roasted notes of dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts, followed by dark berry fruit, cassis and elderberry. Beautiful spicy notes on the palate, lots of ripe, dark berry fruit, opens with present, gripping tannins, builds well, unfortunately quite drying on the finish.
