The red wine Galatrona IGT, vintage 2011 from the winery Petrolo has been rated in 2014 with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby purple. Opens on the nose with fine smoky notes of dried mushroom, then pickled blackberry and plum, sandalwood in the background. Compact and dense at the start, then opens up with astonishingly fresh fruit, elegant, polished tannins and slightly salty notes, combining concentration with elegance, long finish.
