The sparkling wine Pieter Ferreira Blanc de Blancs, vintage 2016 from the winery Pieter Ferriera Cap Classique has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 95 Falstaff points.
The nose opens with salty butter biscuit, followed by an edge of pepper and a sumptuous savouriness. Very fine bubbles immediately spell a creamy texture. More air intensifies notes of wet oustershell. There is rounded generosity and sunny ripeness but this is no longer about fruit but about texture and soil. Serene, generous and very shapely.
