The red wine Barbagalli Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2022 from the winery Pietradolce has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Attractive, bright ruby, with a fine garnet sheen. Charming aromas, with a basketful of ripe wild raspberries, plus hints of rosehip and thyme. Full bodied and intense on the palate, opens up with many layers of tannin and lots of texture. Still young, with a lot of ageing potential, best left to rest for a few more years.
