The sparkling wine Raventós i Blanc Manuel Raventós, vintage 2015 from the winery Raventós i Blanc has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sumoll, Xarel-lo from the region Conca del Riu Anoia in Spain.
The first whiff is of smooth, melted, sweet butter. This is followed by mellow notes of Golden Delicious apple, all suggesting much generosity and richness. The palate then takes you by complete surprise: it is a picture of lacy freshness, wonderful balance and absolute finesse. This shows the majesty of Xarel-lo and its absolute and ultimate destiny in single-vineyard cava. The lemony brightness and the cool depth unite with the beautifully ripe fruit. The finish is bone-dry and really lasting. A real experience.
