The red wine deAetna Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2021 from the winery Terra Costantino has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio from the region Sicily in Italy.
Intense, brilliant ruby red. Initially somewhat restrained on the nose, kitschy notes, then black tea, ripe fruit, raspberry and rosehip. The palate is very full-bodied, with grippy tannins, plus fine saltiness, then slightly austere and loose knit on the finish, although repeatedly salty and juicy; still needs time.
